DEPOSIT GUARANTEE AND RESOLUTION FUND

The Deposit Guarantee and Resolution Fund (FGDR), created by the law of June 25, 1999, is responsible for protecting and compensating customers in the event of a failure of their banking institution.

  • Deposit Guarantee covers deposit accounts and savings accounts up to €100,000 (excluding state-guaranteed savings accounts).
  • Securities Guarantee covers all financial instruments up to €70,000.
  • Guarantee of Sureties covers regulatory surety commitments made by professionals on behalf of their clients.

The FGDR may also intervene in crisis resolution before bankruptcy to prevent consequences for clients.

Management of Inactive Accounts
Since January 1, 2016, the implementation of the law of June 13, 2014 known as the "Eckert Law" has simplified the procedures relating to deposits and assets in inactive accounts.
